Daycare Closed

Daycare was closed yesterday. Kimberly called and told me that the kids in the daycare had been getting sick with fever. Her 3-year old son also has a fever. She decided to close her place, just for yesterday, as she's worried that baby Kaiden, whose immunity is not that strong yet to fight off diseases, might get sick as well. Given the situation, I would not take the risk of bringing my kids there, if in case she decided not to close the daycare. I appreciate her doing the right thing. So yesterday, I decided not to go to work, did some billing at home instead, and spent the whole day with my darling babies. My husband left for San Jose, CA for a game this weekend. Hopefully, we'd see him on TV. As always, we miss him even if he'd be coming home tomorrow.

Back to Work!

Yes, you read that right. Last week, I went back to the workforce. It was sooner than originally planned. What happened was, week before that, my good manager called asking if I could possibly go back to work, be "physically" present in the office ( as she termed it). After I gave birth, I decided to work at home for some hours while I'm on maternity leave. I've been doing medical billing. She had my computer hooked up to the system in the office. However, things happened that would need my presence in the office. There are 2 doctors coming on board and I happen to handle the credentialing, licenses, etc. My husband and I discussed about the pros and cons before I went back to work last week. My boss gave me a reasonable offer that could cover daycare expenses and still leave some for other expenses such as baby's necessities. You see, daycare is expensive especially with 2 kids. We agreed on certain terms. I only report to the office 3x a week for 5-6 hours. The rest of the days, I could do work at home for a few hours. I thought it was a good set-up. That way, I can still spend valuable time with my babies, take care of my family, which is a priority, no matter what. :)

Victory Hair

Oh, how I envy those gorgeous models with shiny, straight hair in TV commercials! I remember during those days when my husband would visit me back home in the Philippines, I would anxiously prepare myself, making sure that he would fall more in love with me when he sees me with my Victory Hair :) Weeks before he'd arrive, I would go to the salon, have a hot oil, wax or cellophane treatment. Desperate to have a beautiful straight hair, I would have my hair rebonded, which, by the way, costs a lot! :) I went to the store with my friends to pick up a nice-looking dress for me to wear on his arrival. The day that I'd been waiting for finally came. My brother and I picked him up at the airport. Oh, I couldn't describe my feelings when I saw him. And I knew he felt the same way, too. Excitement filled the air. He touched my hair, my Victory Hair! I felt some sparks of electricity all over me. We had fun together. It was one of the best days of my life. Speaking of fun, there is an online game called Extreme Style by VO5 Ultimate Flirting Championship which you will enjoy! Try playing the game and you will have fun like I did!

It MOVED Me...

and tears just streamed down my face...

Read and watch the video.

"A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.'

To which, his father said 'Yes' .

For those who didn't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island .

Father and son went on to complete the race together." View this

The Answer To Your Debts

Being in huge debt brings a tremendous amount of stress in one's life. It affects every aspect of your life- mentally, emotionally and physically. Freedom Debt Relief's Debt Reduction Program is the answer to your problem. There are actually four options to Debt Relief, namely Credit Counseling, Debt Consolidation, Bankruptcy and Credit Card Monthly Payment. To compare Credit Counseling with FDR's Debt Reduction Program, you pay longer and higher if you choose to work with Consumer Credit Counseling organizations. Why? One reason is that they work for your creditors without you knowing it. With Freedom's Debt Reduction Program, you're out of debt sooner than you think. Debt Consolidation does not help either with your financial problem. It will not decrease the amount you owe. If you fail to pay your creditors, they would get your personal property which doesn't seem to help at all but bury you deeper financial wise. Filing bankruptcy surely could get rid of your debts totally. However, the repercussions are severe. Whenever you would apply for a loan- car, house, etc, it would show-up and affect your standing credit wise. It stays in your credit report for years. FDR's Debt Reduction Program is certainly a better alternative. You are absolutely protected from bankruptcy and help you decrease debt. With Credit Card Monthly Payments, if you are just paying the minimum payment, you may only be paying the interest not the debt itself. With FDR's Debt Reduction Program, they would help you reduce creditor calls, prevent bankruptcy and find the best solution on your terms, and not theirs. You can get a discount about 40-60% and settle your debt for the following 2-3 years. If you are in terrible financial crisis, Freedom Debt Relief's Debt Reduction Program, is the best solution to your problem.

New Disney Bingo Game

I loved watching Disney shows on TV when I was little. I remember waking up in the morning watching Disney even before eating breakfast. In the afternoon, after taking a nap, I would switch the channel to Disney while eating snacks. I enjoyed watching Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy. Among the Disney movies I liked were Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo and of course, The Lion King. The Lion King is my ultimate favorite among all of them. I sing the famous song in that movie called "Hakuna Matata" whenever I get too much worried on certain things. How about you? Which are your five favorites similar to my list? My little son, Noah loves it when I read to him the book on Finding Nemo. He likes looking at the colorful pictures. There is a new DVD game, ScreenLife Game Disney Bingo which I plan on getting for my kids. You can buy it at Amazon.com or Drugstore.com. I am sure my children, and even Mommy and Daddy will love it. It is a good way for your kids to learn numbers, colors and even hone their matching skills, with the Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie as examples. It works by matching the numbers on the board as they are called out. Whoever fills in the pattern first and shouts BINGO wins. Get the Disney Bingo now and enjoy!

Noah *winks and says "GOOGLE!"

Amazing how a baby's vocabulary increases each day. At almost 18 months, there's been a surge in vocabulary as far as Noah's language development is concerned. The range of words he speaks has been increasing rapidly. We can't help but smile, and sometimes laugh because of how funny he pronounces some words. Just few weeks ago, I spoke to him the word "GOOGLE once, and I was totally surprised that he was able to get it right away. Now, that's my baby! hehe :) We have also been teaching him some sign language (picking only the commonly used ones) since he was 8 months old to reduce frustration in communicating. So far, it has helped us to provide exactly what he needs at the shortest time with less frustration on both ends. He knows how to sign eat, more, drink, milk, sleep, diaper. He points to his diaper or shorts, gets a new one, and lies down whenever he needs it changed. Funny when he does this. :)

Here are some words he speaks:
1. O-ow Wad-ju-ju-ju? - O-oh What did u do? :)
2. baba- head butt (him and his daddy play "soft" head butt :))
3. gi da!- get down! ( he shouts those commands to the dogs especially to Sofie, our lab, coz she likes jumping and standing on the gate whenever we arrive at the door)
4. bats- balls ( i don't know why he pronounces it that way :))
5. diti- dirty

6. ten chu- thank you
7. clock
8. eyes
9. juice
10. dance
11. cheese
12. banana- nana
13. GOOGLE!

14. etc. etc... (words of his own that we still have to decipher :) )

Why Do We Need Friends?- Tag!

Thanks, Lena for this cute tag. So sweet and thoughtful of ya! :)

We need friends for many reasons, all throughout the season.
We need friends to comfort us when we are sad,and to have fun with us when we are glad.
We need friends to give us good advice.
We need someone we can count on,and treat us nice.
We need friends to remember us
one we have passed sharing memories that will always last.

Spread the poem of friendship.

Hollywood Love

"Life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you'll get." I don't have to tell you because I'm sure you know that these lines are from the hit movie "Forest Gump". So true. Have you ever used these lines to get someone's attention? I'm pretty sure they'll work. I am married, with 2 kids, but I still flirt with my good-looking husband. :) Flirting shouldn't end when you're married. It spices up the marriage. For fun, I tried playing the Extreme Style by VO5 Ultimate Flirting Championship online. It was enjoyable! You can be a judge or a flirter. Try it now and have fun!

August 8, 2008

August 8, 2008 was the opening of Beijing Olympics, but more importantly it was also the birthday of my darling husband. Nothing grandiose. Being a coffee drinker himself, I gave him a personalized latte mug with Noah and Kaiden's pictures together embossed on the outside. I was pleased that he liked it a lot. My hubby enjoys drinking coffee every after meal. He has his own version of making latte which he calls "poor man's latte". hehehe :) So simple. Just microwave a mug of milk with vanilla creamer for 3 minutes. Then add a tablespoon of coffee after. Stir. That's it! No sweat! :) For his dinner, I cooked Pot Roast which is his favorite meal. He had a chocolate birthday cake, and as expected, Noah ate most of it. ;) Happy Birthday, hunny! tssssuuup! mwaaaah! ssshlurrrpshhhhhhh! (oooops pardon the slobber :))
