My husband showed me this video yesterday, and I cried. Actually, WE both cried. We were deeply moved.

Noah, Marky and the Bath Tub

Just lovin' the water!

These photos were taken last month when Kimberly, our daycare provider took care of Noah when I was recovering from the Caesarean operation with Kaiden. As usual, he was with his good buddy, Marky who's Kimberly's foster child. I love seeing them play and interact with each other. I'm glad that they enjoy each other's company this early age.

Puppy Kills 2-month old Baby

I was disheartened when I heard this news. We have 2 dogs in the house- a chocolate labrador and a jack russell terrier. Though utterly sweet and loving, we still don't want to take the risk of leaving our children unattended in their presence. You just wouldn't know what could happen. What transpired in this video was an accident. I feel sad for the young parents.

Randy Pausch Dies at 47

I have mentioned his name in one of my posts entitled Noah Hand Painting which highlighted on enhancing your kids' creativity even through unconventional ways. He has views that most readers agree on including yours truly. I admire him for his wit, wisdom, courage, strength, and love for life despite the impending and inevitable death. His speech "The Last Lecture" truly touched millions of lives. Randy Pausch succumbed to pancreatic cancer last Friday, July 25. Click here to read more..

Noah and the Animals

Last Saturday, we went to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead to let Noah see some farm animals for "real". He only sees them on videos whenever he watches Baby Einstein at home. As expected, he had fun especially with the goat which he got to touch the ear.

WarGames 25th Anniversary

What is your favorite flick in the 1980's? I would say it's the E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial shown in 1982. I was only a little kid then when this movie was shown. This brought back memories of my childhood. I remember my mother was pregnant with our youngest when we watched this in the theater. Oh, how I loved this movie! I loved the effects, the soundtrack, and even ET himself. It's a simple, sweet, beautiful movie that talks about friendship. It certainly touched my heart. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I'm sure I'm also going to enjoy this sci-fi movie entitled WarGames. For its 25th Anniversary, the movie is going to be shown on July 24th in selected theaters all over the US. You will also see interviews with the cast and the people responsible for making this film. As an added bonus, you would also get to watch the making of WarGames: The Dead Code which is the sequel. So, guys. Don't forget. WarGames, July 24! Don't miss it! By the way, this is just for ONE NIGHT.

Noah, Marky and the Milkshake

My husband took these pictures when he picked him up at the daycare. Noah (looking like he badly needed a bath) and his friend, Marky were eating and at the same time playing with the milkshake when he got there. They were having fun evidently. :)

Alzheimer's Memory Walk

When I was in college, we would usually hang out at our friend's house after school. We all belonged to the same class. I can say she had the nicest grandmother in the world. She was the sweetest she could be. Whenever we would come to just chill out, she would make it a point to cook us our favorite snacks, and entertain us with stories about her younger years, her love life, how she met her husband, how many boyfriends she had, etc. We always enjoyed her company and there was never a dull moment with her. Years passed by after graduating, I met my friend at a store surprisingly and asked about her grandmother. I was shocked about what she revealed. She said she had changed a lot and had been forgetting things like their names, and even forgetting to turn the stove off at times. Even her moods have changed. Sometimes, she's relaxed, then after a minute, she'd be crying, and then get mad at everybody for no apparent reason at all. I figured she had Alzheimer's Disease as confirmed also by my friend. I feel sad for her and her grandmother. That being said, I would like to invite everyone to join the
Alzheimer's Memory Walk. By joining this event, you would be able to raise awareness and funds to the care and research of Alzheimer's Disease which has been affecting a number of elderly people. Young and old, no matter what your age is, you can be a volunteer to Alzheimer's Memory Walk. There would be walks in more than 600 communities. The Memory Walk is a 2 to 3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall. It is the nation's biggest event so far that aim to put a stop to this disease.

Please join. Help. Who knows? This might save your loved one's life, and even your life.

Kaiden's 1st Month Check Up

Yesterday was Kaiden's 1st month check-up. His weight and height fall into the 80th percentile meaning he weighs and stands more than 80% of babies his age, which I assume is good. Everything went well except for his nasal congestion and cough. He wasn't given antibiotics for his lungs are clear and he doesn't have any fever or ear infection, although he needs to be nebulized before bedtime for 3-5 days. Doctor said he might have the same thing as his brother. Noah, his older brother, has asthma. He gets 2 puffs of inhalant 2x a day. It's painful and it breaks my heart to see my babies having difficulty breathing as if gasping for air whenever they cough. Like most mothers, I wish I could just suck in their suffering and let Mommy carry the burden instead. Nasty cough! haaayyy

Kaiden Turns 1 Month Old

It's already been a month since I've given birth to our second baby Kaiden. He definitely has grown bigger and heavier with cheeks getting plumper like a little Buddha. :) So far, Noah is doing a great job being an older brother. Whenever Kaiden cries, he would point and look at us, and then run quickly to Kaiden's side. We compliment and give him a sweet kiss in return for being a caring brother. There are times though he gets so playful that he takes his blanket from him, or pulls his mittens from his hands. Being a toddler that he is, we always tell him, "be gentle", or "be soft". Gladly he listens, and then touches his lil brother's head as gently as he can. :)

Sweet Smelling Home!

I, myself am a fan of Renuzit. Of all the different brands I have tried, Renuzit has so far delivered the perfect kind of scents I wanted. Two of the scents that I have been using at home, and apparently my favorites, are Raspberry and Sunny Laundry. I also like the smell of Caribbean Cooler Home Fragrance Spray which I'm using right now in one of our bathrooms. When I learned about the Renuzit TriScents scented oil air freshener, I was so excited! As soon as I got the Renuzit TriScents Transform Your Home Kit, I plugged it in our living room and in just a few seconds, our whole house smelled lovely and like new! Oh, how I love the smell! What I actually got was the Morning Meadow Collection which consists of three fragrances namely Waterfall Mist, After The Rain and Pure Breeze. The scents change automatically ever 45 seconds and they last for as long as 60 days. Wow! What a splendid idea from the makers of Renuzit! If you want to know more about the product, just visit their website http://www.triscents.com and print a coupon for the Renuzit TriScents Starter Kit. I will certainly buy another one using the coupon they provided along with the kit, but this time, I'm going to try the Seaside Breeze Collection. mmmm love the smell!

Miss Universe 2008

Beautiful! Miss Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza, won the prestigious Miss Universe 2008 held in Vietnam. I read somewhere that she was kidnapped a year and a half ago. Apparently, this didn't hinder her from following her dream of becoming Miss Universe. Congratulations!

Book: A LOVE WORTH GIVING by MAX LUCADO

"He has been drinking. He has been driving. You have a problem, and I have a question."

hmmm...seem like those lines don't make any sense at all. :) Well, actually, those lines were from the chapter "A Cloak of Love" of that book. From it, the author asks what you're going to do or give to your son given that scenario. You may reprimand him. Teach him a lesson by getting his car keys and not allowing him to drive for a few months. Whatever you choose, he says not to forget to give your child "a cloak of love" afterwards. Embrace him with your loving arms. He desperately needs that at that moment. According to Max Lucado, I quote "Love always protects."

Stem Cell To Save Life

For mothers like me, you must have heard of cord blood stem cell banking where your newborn baby's umbilical cord blood is preserved to be used as treatment for serious illnesses such as leukemia, myeloma, etc. Now, there's another research that proves how stem cells can be life-saving. With the fast-paced technology and human being's passion to look for solutions to some of life's questions, C'elle has revolutionized a way that could possibly save you from life-threatening diseases. Some of these diseases include osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. It is called the C'elle Collection Kit. What it does is it collects and preserves vital stem cells from a woman's own menstrual blood. Recent research showed that menstrual blood contains stem cells that renew by themselves and may be beneficial in the management of future diseases. The C'elle Collection kit has instructions that are easy to follow. The way to collect the specimen is also non-evasive. By preserving your stem cells, you do not only save your life, you can also save other people's life particularly a member of your own family. That could be your parent, your sibling or even your children. For further information, here is a good article about C'elle's innovative product.
Press Release:
Taking Control: Future Therapies for a Host of Serious Diseases May Be Found in Women's Menstrual Blood July 07, 2008: 01:28 PM EST OLDSMAR, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood. Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies. "C’elle enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way," said Michelle Kay, Marketing and Sales Manager for C’elle. "We live in exciting times, as science and technology are discovering how extremely valuable menstrual blood stem cells really are, and the enormous treatment potential they represent for future therapies. C’elle’s ongoing research is supporting these promising findings." For more information about C’elle, please call 1-877-892-3553 or visit www.celle.com.

What a Talent!

I watched this at America's Got Talent last night and I was amazed!

To All Blogging Mothers!

To all blogging mothers like me, here is one guaranteed way to earn money from the comforts of your own home. It's through SocialSpark. All you need to do is sign up for their mailing list. So easy huh? I have been blogging for a few months now, yet I still call myself a newbie since I still have a lot to learn in this arena. I can say that I have been enjoying it so far! Aside from having a means to tell your stories to the whole world, you get to know and meet other people who share interesting stories as well. I love reading other people's blogs and from that aspect, I get to meet new friends especially mothers like me. I just gave birth to a baby boy named Kaiden, and I am grateful that I am part of SocialSpark. SocialSpark has given me an opportunity to earn some money while I take care of my two small, young children without leaving home. Daycare can be very expensive especially with two kids. I used to drive to work. I would leave my only son then to the daycare on my way to the hospital where my office was. Now, having two of them, it may not be a very practical move to drive to work and leave both of them to the daycare. I only earn a decent amount, and with the rising price of gas, it may not be a great idea. I am fortunate though that my good boss had my computer set-up for work at home. However, it may not be enough with the cost of diapers, milk, wipes, baby food, etc. Good thing I found SocialSpark. What I love about it is its unique features, its friendly, colorful layout, and the fact that there's a lot of opportunities to choose from. To add to that, you get paid soon. I can attest to that. So to all blogging mommies out there, join SocialSpark now!

My Mom and Aunt's Vacation

Two weeks ago, my Mom and Aunt came over to see their little grandchildren, and also to help me take care of them. Oh, they did have a grand time! No doubt! Noah, born entertainer himself, impressed his "lolas" with his famous dancing moves. Newborn Kaiden, on the other hand, was so content that he never gave them a difficult time. Both my Mom and Aunt wish that they live near so they can see their "apos" anytime they want to. I guarantee Noah and Kaiden are going to be spoiled if that's the case. :)

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to everyone! It's just me and my babies celebrating the holiday today. My hubby had been out of town since Monday for a couple of games. It had been tough for me, taking care of a toddler and a newborn, but still hanging on, considering I just had my operation almost 3 weeks ago. We miss him a lot. Tomorrow he'd be home though. We're excited to see him again, especially Noah. :)

Noah Hand Painting

During the week that I was in the hospital to give birth to Baby Kaiden, our dear son, Noah was in the daycare who obviously had fun hand painting with his buddy, Marky. It was messy though, but I really don't mind. Enhancing the creative side of him is far more important to me than the mess, or clutter he may make. I remember the story that Randy Pausch shared in his Last Lecture on Life's Lessons when he quested on Oprah. Randy Pausch is a great Computer Science professor who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. When he was little, he liked painting the walls of his room with different things. His parents got dismayed at first but soon realized that it's important that he expressed himself through different means. They encouraged creativity in him and that's what I also wanted to do for our children.
